Why is the Credit Union changing its name?
We are changing our name to better represent our mission, vision and values. It also helps distinguish us as a separate business entity from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas.
Will you open membership to the public?
No. We are continuing our closed membership exclusively for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas employees, retirees and their families.
Is Kansas Blue Cross Blue Shield Credit Union being bought by another organization?
No, we are changing our name and rebranding to better represent our financial institution and the value we want to bring to our members.
Will my member information change?
No. Your member number and our routing number will stay the same.
Do I need to do anything because of this change?
No action is needed on your part. Everything will continue to operate and run as usual.
When will the name change happen?
May 1, 2025, will be the official change. It may take us some time to get the name changed in all of our systems and with our vendors. Please be patient with us.
What will happen to my checks and debit or credit cards?
Your current checks will remain valid with Kansas Blue Cross Blue Shield branding. Starting on May 1, 2025, you can order checks with our new name and branding.
New credit cards were mailed in May 2025. After your new card is activated your credit account will be removed from our current core system. Your new credit card account will be available through eZCard. Login into our online banking site and go to accounts, services and click "credit card". You can also get there through the mobile app by going to other services and clicking "credit card". EZCard will allow you to view history, statements, make payments, and allows you to set your own alerts for travel and spending. You now have the option for E-Statements if you choose to sign-up!
New debit cards will be mass reissued through July and August 2025.
Will your email addresses change?
Our new email will be mbrsvc@empowerbluecu.org starting on May 1, 2025.
All emails sent to mbrsvc@ksbcbscu.org after May 1, 2025 will be automatically forwarded to the new email addresses.
What will happen to your website and app?
You will be redirected from our old website to the new website automatically. The app appearance will change, but your login credentials will remain the same.
