Job Title: Facilities Technician-Full Time

Reports To: CEO
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Overtime by management approval)
Schedule: Flexible hours, up to 32-40 hours per week, workload dependent.
Job Summary:
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning facility through routine janitorial services, light maintenance, and special projects. This role ensures both the interior and exterior of the property are kept in top condition, supporting a professional and welcoming environment for members, employees, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance & Cleaning
Perform daily janitorial duties including vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, stock refill of paper products and soaps, and restroom sanitation.
Clean windows, glass doors, and other surfaces to maintain a polished appearance.
Clean ceiling and floor vent covers.
Shampoo carpets and reseal tile floors as needed to preserve flooring condition and appearance.
Assemble, move and reposition office furniture.
Assist with painting, touch-ups, and basic wall repairs.
Groundskeeping & Outdoor Maintenance
Raise and lower the American flag during operating hours Monday-Friday, unless a light is installed to illuminate the flag at night.
Mow lawns, trim shrubs, and maintain landscaped areas around the facility.
Apply routine pest control to inside and outside of building.
Perform snow and ice removal from sidewalks, parking lots, and entrances during winter months. (Coordinate with snow removal contract for parking lot)
Conduct outdoor litter control to always ensure clean and safe grounds. (Including removal of biohazard waste).
Facilitate and certify building’s fire extinguishers, per fire code.
Light Maintenance & Repairs
Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and air filters as needed.
Test and replace batteries on emergency lighting.
Perform basic plumbing repairs (e.g., unclogging drains, fixing leaks, replacing fixtures).
Assist with basic carpentry and minor electrical repairs under supervision or per policy.
Identify maintenance issues and report larger repair needs to the CEO or appropriate vendor.
Special Projects & Support
Assist with setting up and breaking down equipment or furniture for meetings, events, and seasonal displays.
Conduct daily mail run to post office.
Order, pick up, and unload all supplies and equipment needed for facilities.
Maintain an orderly supply room.
Participate in facility improvement projects, preventive maintenance programs, and safety inspections.
Collaborate with vendors or contractors when necessary to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations and organizational needs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Driver license and reliable transportation.
Prior experience in janitorial, facilities, or maintenance work preferred.
Knowledge of basic building systems, tools, and cleaning equipment.
Ability to operate landscaping and snow removal equipment safely.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe environment.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand or walk for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
Personal attributes: honesty, discretion, reliable, and a positive attitude.
Work Environment:
This position involves both indoor and outdoor work in varying conditions. May require early mornings, evenings, or weekend hours during inclement weather or special projects.
